HANNSpree launches HANNSMilano "handbag-inspired" TV

March 10th, 2008

Apparently “inspired by today’s modern woman” the HANNSMilano is a new “fashion” LCD TV that resembles an Italian style handbag.
The HANNSMilano’s three dimensional design and two tone appearance features both a high-gloss lustrous black finish and 100% genuine imported Italian leather exterior with delicate and intricate detailing.
True to its bag roots, the 9.6-inch LCD TV includes a carry strap for easy positioning, and a cable management facility that tucks away cables so as not to distract from the overall designer look of the set.
Angled as the perfect gift for the girl that has everything - well, apart from a bag-shaped telly, of course - it launches in the UK this month for £129.99 directly from HANNspree.

Sony’s XDV-G200 and XDV-D500, Your New Pocket TV

February 7th, 2008

While many manufacturers work hard building devices with endless functions, it’s always intrigued us geeks to see a company like Sony create a simple product with just two main functions like radio and mobile TV. The Sony XDV-G200 and SDV-G500 are such products.
In a nutshell, our XDV-G200, which resembles a simple DAP (Mp3 player), features a 1Seg TV tuner and an AM/FM radio tuner. It has a 2.0” QVGA screen and can be used up to 8h for TV watching and 18h for FM Radio listening (58×92x14mm for just 87g).
As for the XDV-D500, the “BRAVIA” Pocket TV as Sony likes to call it, we also find a 1Seg TV Tuner, an AM/FM radio tuner, but includes 2GB internal memory to be used mainly to record 1Seg TV programs. It comes with a 3” TFT screen with a WQVGA resolution. Our little pocket TV can used up to 8h for watching TV and 27h for FM radio (9+8×59.3×14.3mm, 107g).

Who of you is old enough o remember the frustrations of a TV going fuzzy? Not too many I bet, but for those who grew up used to a measly 4 channels this necklace will be a familiar sight. Not so much a blast from the past as a blur from the past, this little design was the infamous TV holding screen- what they placed up when there were ‘technical difficulties’ or between the hours of one and seven. Now you can wear it nostalgically round your neck-genius!

With a 3.5 inches LCD monitor, this TV really has what it takes to be called "small" or "mini", using a DS with a 1Seg TVtuner may be as good or better…but this one features an AM/FM radio, the EPG (to display TV channel informations), the OneSeg TV Tuner is part of the deal and the autonomy is set around 6 and a half hours (can be recharged through USB).
Dimensions and weight are cool : 135g and 116×12.3×76mm.
Price and resolution were not communicated….
