This TV supports Picture-In-Picture, when connected to a VCR. With built-in HDTV compatibility, this TV set can display images that are significantly sharper and more realistic than regular television, as long as the source is high definition. (It can easily render standard-resolution digital TV broadcasts and also depict the full resolution of widescreen DVD video.) The 3:2 pulldown feature of this set reduces artifacts that can occur when motion pictures are transferred to a digital format such as DVD.

The Westinghouse LTV-27w7 looks pretty “sharp” aesthetically – pun intended. The black casing and integrated bottom-speaker remind the review team of Sharp’s latest line of LCD televisions. Although it is not a completely original design, Westinghouse was wise to make their 27″ television as slim as possible for those who want to fit it into a tight space.

The LTV-27w7 includes an HDMI connection for next-generation DVD players and high-definition television receivers. Although we would have liked to see two HDMI connections for the growing number of input sources, it is nice that Westinghouse included one on this budget-conscious LCD television. The LTV-27w7 includes two component video inputs, 1 composite / S-Video input, and a PC Input. Many users are excited about the PC Input because they can replace their computer monitor with this television. This type of application is especially handy in places where space is a premium – like a dorm room!

The LTV-27w6 is a smart choice for a small home theater and makes a fantastic bedroom TV. Its stylishly thin, lightweight cabinet allows it to fit in many spaces where tube TVs never could — even some kitchen counters. Also, the TV’s base removes easily for wall-mounting.

The generous set of inputs includes composite, S-video, and component video jacks, as well as both DVI and HDMI digital video inputs for use with the latest satellite HD receivers and “upconverting” DVD players. This versatile set also has a standard PC input so it can pull double duty as a computer monitor.
