A Closer Look at Samsung’s F86 46 Inch LCD TV

It’s no secret that LCD TV technology has long struggled to match Plasma models when it comes to on-screen motion. And, while other manufacturer’s have tried the 100Hz technology to help enhance motion image quality, this is Samsung’s initial product introduction; Samsung calls their version of 100Hz “Motion Plus”.

While Motion Plus isn’t perfect, it does help smooth things out by doubling the frame rate. Displaying 1080p images at 24 frames per second, the F86 works well with both HD DVD and Blu-Ray. Occasionally, you will still notice “softness” when things are moving very quickly on screen, but overall the picture quality is good.

Sound quality delivered by the F86’s two speakers is very good for those who do not plan to connect the set to a home theater audio system.
