If you’re looking for a second HDTV for your bedroom or den, check out the Samsung LN22A450. This budget-friendly set gives you a clean high-definition picture coupled with a sleek, compact design.
This slim HDTV has built-in tuners for both digital and analog over-the-air broadcasts (antenna required). These tuners ensure that you’ll continue to get a clean, vibrant picture well beyond the current transition and after the switchover to digital is completed in 2009. And if you’re a cable TV subscriber, you can take advantage of the LN22A450’s built-in “QAM” digital cable tuner to watch unscrambled channels without using a separate set-top box.

This entry level LCD Television from Samsung has 1680 x 1050 resolution or 720P. While not the highest resolution available it is generally considered sufficient for 95% of viewing material including most HD programming. One significant upgrade from last years model in the LN22A450 is enhanced capability with digital devices such as HD camcorders and portable media players. The LN22450A offers side mounted input ports for easy connectivity with these devices and the accompanying remote control has ‘hot keys” which allow easy access. The 450 series has 1 HDMI input.

The LN22A450 is an excellent choice if you’re looking for a second HDTV for another room in your home, or office. Images remain vibrant throughout, both when watching movies on discs, and playing games and other tasks. The set comes with a full 178 degrees viewing angle, which ensures a bright, and well-lit picture no matter where you’re sitting. The two built-in speakers provide 3 watts of output, which is quite adequate for regular use, though we recommend a dedicated surround sound setup.
