Several special picture enhancement technologies are integrated into the processor to create better gradations and details, enhance contrast, dynamically improve color, and reduce image flicker. There are a lot of ways to define high-definition but BRAVIA Full HD means you’re getting the best resolution that high-definition has to offer consumers. Sony uses a dynamic backlighting system called ACE (Advanced Contrast Enhancement) on BRAVIA V-Series TVs.

ACE automatically senses the APL (Average Picture Level) of the video signal and adjusts the intensity of the backlight for improved contrast. VESA test and measurement methods are applied yielding a contrast ratio of used 7000:1. This number represents the widest possible ratio between black and white contrast levels. Sony also measures their BRAVIA televisions with a more stringent method that measures the amount of black and white levels that can appear on the screen at the same time. This method yields a more real world measurement of 1300:1

Review By Crutchfield Sony’s lowest-priced 1080p BRAVIA TVs deliver performance that’s only a slight step down from the top-of-the-line XBRs. Review By Reviews.cnet The new sets start with the 40-inch and 46-inch V2500 series, the least expensive 1080p LCDs in Sony’s 2006 lineup. You’ll be tested on that later, but in the meantime, just remember that Sony claims the new ‘lights make colors look better. Connectivity is highlighted by a pair of HDMI inputs that can, unlike most 2005 1080p sets, accept 1080p resolution signals. Read Full Review Here

Review By Sonystyle Live Color Creation System Decades of television know how allow us to realize that an LCD TV is more than just the panel; it’s actually a system. Uncompromised picture quality starts with combining carefully chosen components and circuits to optimize system quality, among these are the color creation and processing functions. Next, a WCG-CCFL backlight using Sony’s phosphor formula delivers a specific spectrum of light designed to work with our specially formulated color filters. The combination of these three components creates deep, deep reds and blues and colors that draw you right into the picture itself. Read Full Review Here
