A dizzying array of features and capabilities is grounded in the basic premise of supplying a wireless color LCD Touch Panel with audio, video and data. Just as you can charge the handset of your phone on a base station and then roam the house making and taking calls, so too can you detach the fully charged LCD and watch TV in the garage or anywhere else nearby up to 100 feet from the base station. Soon you’ll be surfing the web while hammock lounging, checking e-mail from the kitchen or browsing your digital photos with guests over dining room coffee and dessert.

Weighing less than an average laptop PC (5 pounds 1 ounce), the wireless LF-X11 consists of a 12.1-inch LCD TV with a standard 4:3 aspect ratio, 800 x 600 native pixel resolution, and an accompanying base station. The base station houses connection terminals, an NTSC broadcast tuner, and a wireless transmitter. The monitor runs on a supplied rechargeable lithium battery, while the battery charger works on universal power (AC 100 to 240V) for use in most countries.

A Memory Stick media slot provides access to digital photos, making it possible to import photos and share them while on the road. Stereo speakers deliver only 1.6 watts of audio output per channel, but that is fine for such a small screen. The LF-X11 has an on-screen universal remote control, so there’s no need to worry about losing the remote. The battery life ranges from 100 minutes to 4 hours, depending on usage conditions.
