The TV’s glossy black bezel measures about an inch across and features a slightly curved surface and rounded corners. Integrated stereo speakers are concealed behind a thin strip of dark-colored perforated material located beneath the screen, and they sound fine in a small- to mid-size room. The set’s matching base stand provides about 20 degrees of total tilt—15 degrees back and 5 degrees forward. The baton-style remote has glow-in-the-dark buttons that provide good tactile feedback, but multiple labels on and around most of its buttons give the remote an intimidating appearance at first glance.

Its built-in tuners pull in all types of local over-the-air broadcasts, from ordinary analog to digital high-definition (antenna required). And a built-in “QAM” tuner lets cable TV subscribers watch unscrambled channels — including your local network HD channels in most areas — without the added hassle and expense of a set-top box.

The “Warm” setting reduces the color temperature to an NTSC standard 6500 degrees Kelvin and delivers a redder image that is ideal for display in a dimly lit room. “Medium” and “Cool” provide a progressively bluer image for the best picture as room light levels are increased.
