In a recent interview, George Lucas - the man behind successful films like the Star Wars and Indiana Jones said he’s moving to making films for tv instead.

Stating that it makes no sense to spend hundreds of millions for just a single movie, Lucas said making films for tv is the way to go.

He added “We don’t want to make movies. We’re about to get into television. As far as Lucasfilm is concerned, we’ve moved away from the feature film thing because it’s too expensive and it’s too risky“.

It’s estimated that around 30 million Americans enjoy home theaters and are hurting ticket sales in cinemas. Thus, this announcement may not come as a surprise to industry experts.

It seems that along iTunes, downloadable movies will be the “future”.
