The Philips 47PFL9632D is identical in terms of specification to its 52in and 37in siblings, and almost identical to the 32in model. What all of the larger screens  share is a Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution. The screens Full HD resolution is able to map, pixel for pixel, the highest quality input onto the screen without the need for downscaling. The PFL9632 has three HDMI sockets at the rear, as Philips hasn’t gone down the route of having a side HDMI yet. They do provide a USB socket, though, for plugging in memory sticks to view photos onscreen. For analogue sources, you’ll find two RGB Scart sockets and a component video in for HD material. You’ll also find a digital audio output and analogue RCA audio outputs for hooking the TV up to an AV receiver.

Thanks to Ambilight Surround, the 47PFL9732D offers an impressive viewing experience. According to Philips, Ambilight ensures better perceived image quality. Subjectively, the picture gains in contrast and its colours become stronger, thus providing a relaxed viewing experience. The latest generation of Philips Ambilight is based on LEDs that not only create fuller colours but also allow for a more compact design and require less power than previous models. Here, too, the LEDs correspond only to the Ambilight and are not connected with the backlight of the LCD panel in any way - the backlight here is also a WCG CCFL.
