Everything you’re looking for in a high-end plasma TV – now with greater connectivity and advanced picture adjustment features. With integrated video processing and a digital (DVB-T) tuner, the PDP-507XD also has 2 HDMI inputs and a PC input. The enhanced connectivity means that you have greater opportunity to take advantage of high definition media, via a single cable connection to other HDMI-compatible devices. Integrated home entertainment in true high definition. The PDP-507XD features our 7th Generation Plasma Screen design which includes new and unique components – such as the PUREBLACK Panel 2 and Direct Colour Filter 2. The result is that you see distinctive, considerably improved picture brightness and contrast – the dynamic picture quality you would expect from Pioneer.

Features

  • Intelligent Brightness Control which intelligently controls on-screen brightness so that you get the best picture, regardless of the changing lighting conditions in your room
  • Integrated digital DVB-T tuner, with a CI Slot, which means that you don’t require an additional decoder box: everything is integrated in one body. This is ideal if you don’t want a ‘hardware’ invasion in your living room
  • USB host: turn your screen into a home media gallery. Simply connect your USB memory stick and enjoy your digital photo’s onscreen. It’s a good way to share your pictures in the best possible format
  • Subwoofer output: this KURO has high-grade audio parts: but if you want to boost lower frequencies, it has direct sub out, with no need for an additional amplifier.
  • ISF calibration ready: The ISF C3 (or Custom Calibration Configuration) feature allows your screen to be optimised for your viewing environment. As an optional service, a trained professional can precisely calibrate your plasma panel with customised levels of contrast, tint, colour level and other parameters.
  • Multi-screen options: this KURO allows for picture in picture and split screen views; particularly useful if you want to keep an eye on a sports game whilst watching a DVD, for example.

Design-wise the 508XD wears Pioneer’s trademark and extremely cool glossy piano-black surround, uncluttered with logos and control keys, keeping to the current trend for minimalist chic. But its true beauty is only evident once you plug it in, turn it on and breeze through the simple set-up menus. The picture you are presented with is utterly and completely beguiling in its quality and vibrancy.

This television is ‘high definition ready’ which means it has the ability to display high definition signals with the addition of a separate HD receiver. HD broadcasts are at a much higher resolution than regular analogue or digital broadcasts and have greatly enhanced picture quality. The level of detail is astonishing with clearer, sharper and more vibrant images.

The larger sized screens have an outstanding contrast ratio of 20,000:1 and 1080p for the ultimate in high definition home viewing and the smaller 720p screens have a contrast ratio of 16,000:1 with some also having an ‘Optimum Mode’ which sets the screen to display images best suited to the viewing environment and the source material.
