The Samsung PS50A558 is a great entry level 50 plasma tv for those who want the a superior picture without having to spend thousands. In our expert opinion the only thing lacking on this tv is 100HZ scanning, however, this is always a contentious issue of whether it is actually necessary. After having looked at fast action programmes on this 50 plasma tv we would have to agree.

A wide viewing angle of 175° is also offered, which makes it easy to view the TV from any part of the room. This TV consumes a power of 550W during runtime and less than a watt in stand-by mode. It measures 1230.3 (W) x 761.8 (H) x 95.0 (D) mm and weighs 37.4kg without the stand. The additional features available are Picture-in-Picture, Sleep Timer, clock, on/off Timer, Auto power off and Teletext level 2.5. The anti burn-in technology present, ensures that the screen does not have colour stains left back by certain images.
