The new projector from Optoma, the HD80 is causing a flutter because of its pricing. This very affordable 1080p projector features 1,300 lumens with a 10,000:1 contrast ratio. It has two 1.3 HDMI ports, DVI with HDCP, and both component and composite connections. It costs only $2,999, and promises to be your trouble-free entertainment partner for at least two years. For those with a wallet full of green bucks, can indulge in the HD81-LV projector. It features almost double the brightness (2,500 lumens) of HD80 and includes 3 HDMI ports along with Texas Instrument’s DarkChip3. You can pair the HD81 with an optional anamorphic lens to get a 2.35:1 widescreen image. The HD81 costs $7,999. Both the projectors will start selling in July.
